Owned by the artists represented in the show, Topanga Canyon Gallery has flying teapots, raku pottery, ceramic bowls, jars, vases, cups and trays, embellished gourds, boxes with inlayed tiles, decorated heads for your tree, photographs that should be in National Geographic, silk scarves, coasters, cards and jewelry, jewelry, jewelry.

Following the holiday spirit gallery painters are displaying smaller works (size not quality) for tastes ranging from still-life, abstract, digital, scenes of Topanga and the coast, landscapes, figurative and animal portraits. Arrangements can even be make for a rendering of your pet. And don’t forget the mixed media and sculpture. You can find assemblages incorporating bird houses, fused glass, fimo clay with semi-precious stones, and carved alabaster and marble.

There are bins of unframed art if you like to peruse and uncover an original piece that speaks just to you. The gallery has a gift registry to let others know what is on your holiday list and gift certificates if you want to give friends the pleasure of shopping for themselves.

The Gallery Holiday Art and Gift Show will run November 2 through December 31. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM and Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM. We will be open for the Best of Topanga on Saturday, December 4 until 8 PM, a Holiday Open House/Gallery Reception on December 11 from 5 to 8 PM, and on December 18 until 9 PM with the community pot-luck sing along and snow day at Pine Tree Circle.

Please stop in and see us – you’ll be met by an artist-owner doubling as the sales person. Feel free to discuss the artists’ work and creative inspirations while in the gallery. Our artists will give you personal assistance in matching art for your home and can direct you to portfolios with background information for each artist and images of additional work.

Topanga Canyon Gallery keeps a busy, vital schedule with new shows each month, often featuring small group shows in the front of the gallery. Upcoming shows include the Juried Show in January with guest juror Patricia Howard, head of the sales and rental gallery at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Interested artists are encouraged to pick up an application for submission by December 10 or download one from our web site: topangacanyongallery.com. We also encourage artists to get to know us while the gallery is accepting applications for membership. About half of the artists live in the Canyon and the others travel from the surrounding communities. As an artist-owned gallery we are able to offer the best prices possible because the gallery does not take a high sales commission.
